Birmingham City have started to build some momentum as Steve Cotterill's side look to find a way out of the relegation fight they currently find themselves in. 

The Blues have been disappointing this season as they find themselves in 23rd place, 1 point off escaping the dreaded relegation zone.

Birmingham City have never been short on producing some exciting talent in attacking areas in years gone by, after seeing Nathan Redmond and Demarai Gray progress through their youth-system.

However, another one wasn't to follow as news surfaced yesterday that Birmingham striker David Popa has left the club by mutual consent.

After the 20-year-old's existing deal with the club was set to run out on the 30th of June, so the player will now take up free agency.

The Romanian joined the Blues' academy back in 2014 as a 16-year-old before progressing through their U'18 and U'21 ranks.

As Birmingham City's Twitter account (@BCFC) took to notifying fans of the departure of their former youngster.

Following the news, fans took to the update with a mixture of responses as a very small amount of fans knew who he was, along with some supporters wishing him the best.
