After a couple of years of stalling over a potential move, it feels the time has come for Jack Grealish to depart Aston Villa in the summer.

Now 23, the born and bred Villa star must move on if he is to reach his potential, which is highly expected to be an established Premier League player, as well as an England star.

His importance to Villa has been highlighted since his return, with the club climbing the table.

Henri Lansbury has been mooted as the one to replace Grealish. The castaway ex-Forest man has languished around the Villa reserves for a while now.

In our eyes though, Lansbury doesn’t fit the bill.

Instead, we’ve named four players we think can live up to expectations and replace Grealish.

Alex Pritchard

Alex Pritchard has been one of the best players in an extremely poor Huddersfield side this season, and excelled at Norwich before that.

Higher end Championship may well be the level where he can truly shine, and Aston Villa would be a perfect place to do so.

Bradley Dack

Bradley Dack has been ready for a big move for a couple of years now, and if Jack Grealish does leave this summer, Villa would be perfect for him.

He has excelled at Mowbray’s Blackburn side, but the step up to Villa would be a good career move.

Tom Cairney

Tom Cairney has struggled to make a real difference for Fulham in the Premier League this season, and could well move on when they are inevitably relegated.

He was the star man, alongside Sessegnon and Mitrovic, when Fulham were promoted. If he moved to Villa, he could really shine again.

Robert Snodgrass

Robert Snodgrass is more of a wideman, but as he reaches his autumnal years as a player, he could excel in a central role.

Villa would be a good place to do this, and he would represent a good Grealish replacement.
