Reading are in the market for a new manager after Paul Clement was dismissed on Thursday morning and one candidate has already thrown his name into the hat for the managerial vacancy at the Madejski Stadium.

Simon Grayson has registered his interest in taking the job in Berkshire, according to Sky Sports News HQ (TV) - a potential deal that hasn't gone down well with Reading supporters.

The Royals are in deep trouble this season and are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference, with many fans fearing they could drop into League One.

Many supporters have been calling for Slavisa Jokanovic to take over as Clement's successor after he was dismissed from Fulham shortly before Clement was sacked.

Jokanovic is the name on Royals' supporters' lips as they believe he is the man to take them back up the Championship table and to get the best out of an underperforming crop of players at the Madejski Stadium.

We look at TWO reasons why Reading should be eyeing Jokanovic as their new boss....

The former Fulham boss gave a number of youngsters a chance in the Fulham side when he was in charge and Reading fans will be hoping that he could do the same if he takes charge of the Championship strugglers.

Reading have similar types of players to Fulham and Jokanovic would have no problem in implicating a similar passing style into the squad for the rest of this season.

If the squad can buy into his philosophies, then the Royals will be a real threat for the rest of the campaign.

Jokanovic proved to be a real success at Fulham when they were in the Championship, as he guided them to promotion last season.

He was unlucky to be sacked from the Premier League side, but their loss could be Reading's gain and they would be foolish not to make an approach for him.
