Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has revealed the club are set for a quiet January transfer window, which appears to have frustrated and worried many fans of the Yorkshire club.

The Whites are third in the Championship as things stand–two points behind league leaders West Bromwich Albion.

They will undoubtedly be hoping to avoid the play-offs and finish in the top two this season after their nightmarish defeat at the hands of Derby County in May.

Leeds brought in goalkeeper Kiko Casilla from Real Madrid in January, who has become a key player in Marcelo Bielsa's side, and fans may have been hoping for more additions this season.

However, it appears that may not be the case as Orta told Italian site Tuttomercatoweb.com that he is expecting a quiet January transfer window.

He said: "We have made a conservative line in the summer, we will do it in winter. The new ones need time, in January there are few options and they have a certain type of matrix.

"We need intelligence, I can say that it will be a quiet market for Leeds. We have information and ideas but I believe little in the winter market. Only 25% of winter shots are successful, it's incredible."

Leeds fans will likely have been hoping they club would add some reinforcements in January to help them end their 15-year absence from the Premier League this season but that now seems unlikely.

Orta's comments do not seem to have been well received by the majority of the Elland Road faithful, with many Leeds supporters suggesting his inaction could mean they fall short of promotion.
