After a disastrous start to the season, QPR had picked up in recent weeks but successive defeats mean they will still be looking over their shoulder nervously.

Steve McClaren deserves credit for turning their fortunes around, with the former England manager getting the best out of several key men.

Luke Freeman appeared to have improved in recent weeks, with the former Bristol City man establishing himself as a key player in this team over the years, with his creativity and quality on the ball.

Another important player for the R's is Massimo Luongo. The Australian has a good all-round game and is a key figure in the middle of the park.

However, whilst fans will undoubtedly hope those pair can be important players for the remainder of the season, McClaren has more quality in his squad that will make an impact.

Here we look at two other players that will be exciting fans...

The youngster has been on the fringes under McClare despite making a few appearances last season.

Oteh has scored goals for fun for the U23s and the 20-year-old will be attracting the attention of his manager.

Of course, he will have to be patient and there are plenty of options ahead of him in the pecking order, but his chance will come this season and he could be a key player for the R's in the years to come.

It's quite surprising that Smyth hasn't been given more of a chance this season as he looked an extremely talented prospect under Ian Holloway.

However, that quality should see him get a chance in the coming weeks and the Northern Irish youngster should take it.

He is a very energetic player, has good technique and has the ability to make a significant impact in the Championship.
