It’s finally happened for Sheffield United fans.

Their six year stay in the third tier of English football is over.

Sheffield United have underperformed in every season since their relegation to League One, but this year Chris Wilder’s side have stormed to the title, and secured promotion to the Sky Bet Championship with four games still to go.

All of those associated with the club will breathe a huge sigh of relief, and this promotion will be enjoyed in the Red and White half of the south Yorkshire city.

Manager, Chris Wilder, however, may not feel so relaxed.

He has gained the admiration of the fans, but supporters are fickle, and chairmen are even worse.

A bad start to the new season may be enough to see Wilder get the chop. Football can be so cruel.

With that in mind, the former Northampton Town boss will be planning extensively for next season, and part of that process is lining up potential transfer targets.

Wilder will search far and wide for the right man, but he needs only to look half an hour down the road.

Scunthorpe’s Josh Morris has been excellent this season, and the midfielder has been a key component to his side's promotion push this season.

The Iron pushed the Blades for long spells of the season before fading away, but still might see success through the play offs.

Whatever happens, Wilder should bring Morris to the Championship with him.

From his midfield role, the 25-year-old has struck 19 League One goals in 43 appearances, and his performances have kept Scunny in touch with the automatic promotion spots.

Wilder should look to test Scunthorpe’s willingness to keep the player this summer, and a reasonable bid would surely tempt the Iron to part with their star man.
