Leeds United remain without a manager as they continue to look for the right man to take them forwards into 2018/19.

The Whites have been linked heavily with the likes of Marcelo Bielsa since Paul Heckingbottom was sacked earlier this summer but the club is still yet to make a firm appointment.

Indeed, with that situation starting to drag on, other managers are also coming into the frame by the looks of things with Steve Bruce linked over the weekend by the Telegraph.

With Aston Villa struggling financially at the moment and their future up in the air, the Whites might try to profit on the situation and snap up the former Birmingham man.

However, are there other managers the club should perhaps be looking at bringing in this summer instead?

Here at Football League World, then, we're profiling three managers that might be better fitting for the Elland Road hot-seat...

Mick McCarthy is a man who knows how to win this league and do it on a budget.

He's also a man who is hungry to prove himself after what happened at Ipswich and deserves another chance because he is a very good manager - despite what some think of him.

Leeds clearly have some money to spend, too, so this might be the perfect opportunity for him, and them, to return to the Premier League.

Alex Neil really impressed last season with his work at Preston.

The Deepdale boss nearly got his side into the play-offs on one of the smaller budgets in the league so what he could do at Leeds really could be something.

He's a manager who's gotten a side into the Premier League before and Leeds need as much knowledge of that as possible.

Claudio Ranieri would represent a risk but also the marquee name that the Whites are craving.

He's got great contacts in the game and an obviously impressive CV so he might be able to make some good signings - as well as quickly command the respect of the dressing room

No Championship experience would have to be considered but it's probably worth the punt.
