Reading have endured an extremely poor start to the season and they will be hoping for an upturn of form as quickly as possible-starting with a positive result at home to Bristol City this weekend.

With Reading currently occupying one of the relegation places this season, it's not difficult to see Paul Clement has had to face questions about his future as Royals boss.

Since taking over from Reading in March 2018, Clement has endured a torrid time in Berkshire and has a win percentage of just 24% in a deeply disappointing spell with the club so far.

Reading host Bristol City this weekend and if Clement's side suffer a loss again, then it could spell the end of his time with the club.

Steve Bruce has apparently emerged as the leading candidate that Reading want to replace Clement with if he is dismissed, but what other managers are currently out there for the Royals to pursue?

Find out what other targets Reading should be considering here....

Graeme Murty is a real hero of the Reading fanbase and would surely get the time needed from them to try and start turning things around.

He does have less experience than Steve Bruce as a manager but he knows the Royals inside out and might be worth a closer look.

The 52-year-old was last seen in football as manager of Swansea, but Carvalhal left the club after they were relegated to the Championship.

Carvalhal has previously managed in the Championship, as he was in charge of Sheffield Wednesday over a two-year-spell with the club.

He is another manager that could be tempted to drop into the Championship to reignite his career as a manager.

McCarthy was dealt with unfairly at Ipswich Town and he will be keen to prove himself in the Championship with a different set of players.

The former Ipswich boss has a personality that could be needed to fire-up this current Reading squad that could certainly be challenging for a top six spot if they were to click into gear.
