Gary Taylor-Fletcher has announced that he will retire from football today, on his 38th birthday.

And friends, former team-mates and fans from the various clubs he played for have taken the opportunity to thank and wish him well on Twitter.

The forward scored over 90 career league goals in 368, and became somewhat of a cult figure at many of the teams he played for.

He is perhaps most remembered for spells at Blackpool, Huddersfield Town and Lincoln, as he made the meteoric rise from non-league to the Premier League.

Taylor-Fletcher announced his retirement whilst highlighting the people who have supported him along the way. He played for 15 clubs in total across the football pyramid, which included playing in Wales at the end of his career.
