Sheffield Wednesday are looking to get back to winning ways this weekend when they travel to The Valley to take on Charlton Athletic on Saturday lunchtime.

Garry Monk’s side have failed to win in five, taking only three points from the last 15 that have been on the table to them.

They’ve come out of November’s international break with a defeat to West Bromwich Albion and a draw with Birmingham City, with Monk left looking for a solution to get Wednesday back on the path that led them into the top-six just a month ago.

Up next is Charlton at The Valley, and here, we take a look at the starting line-up we are expecting Monk to field given the selection headaches he has…

Last time out it was Cameron Dawson in goal, and we are expecting that to continue, with Monk’s faith seemingly with the young goalkeeper heading into festive run up.

Ahead of him is where there will be changes, with Julien Borner suspended, as well as Liam Palmer.

That means that Dominic Iorfa could well be joined by skipper Tom Lees at centre-back, whilst Moses Odubajo and Morgan Fox retain their places at full-back.

Sam Hutchinson could return to the central midfield positions alongside Barry Bannan, whilst Kadeem Harris is likely to retain his place on the left wing.

With Adam Reach’s form patchy, Monk could turn to Jacob Murphy on the right wing and balance Harris’ pure pace with more of the same on the opposite side.

Can you name every top Sheffield Wednesday goalscorer from last 15 seasons?

Then, supporting the regular Steven Fletcher in this 4-4-1-1 should be Fernando Forestieri, who is a man the Wednesday faithful want to see back in the starting XI on a regular basis.

The playmaker is arguably the best player in the Wednesday squad on his day and could be someone who sparks Monk’s side back to winning ways.
