Adam Smith, Forest Green Rovers' goalkeeper, has been loaned out to National League side Yeovil Town for a month, in search of regular game-time after slipping down the pecking order behind JoJo Wollacott and Lewis Thomas at The New Lawn.

Smith started his career in the Middlesbrough academy before moving to Leicester City in 2010.

The young keeper spent loan spells as cover at Chesterfield and Lincoln City, before heading out to Nuneaton Town on loan and appearing eight times.

In January 2014, Smith then went out on loan again, this time to Stevenage, but failed to make an appearance as he acted as a backup.

In April 2014, Smith moved to Cambridge United and made eight appearances as Cambridge earned promotion to the Football League via the Conference Playoffs, before returning to Leicester.

In January 2015, Smith made four appearances for Mansfield Town on a one-month loan.

The keeper went in search of permanent first-team football in 2015 and signed for Northampton Town, making 94 appearances across two seasons.

Smith then moved to Bristol Rovers in 2017 at the end of his Northampton contract and appeared 36 times over the course of the next two seasons, before leaving Rovers and signing for FGR this summer, but has failed to make a competitive appearance.

Smith is available for Yeovil's match against Aldershot Town tonight.
