‘Football makes no sense sometimes’ – Brentford fans speak out about Bristol City draw

It was another defensive nightmare from Brentford as they claimed their first point of the season against Bristol City.

The Bees were tipped as outsiders for promotion this season but have got off to a tricky start to the Championship, with two defeats and a draw to their name.

The continuing issue for Dean Smith has been their defence, as shown once again last night.

They had 24 efforts at goal with 10 shots on target, but still could only claim a draw as defensive errors allowed Josh Brownhill and Bobby Reid to score.

Ollie Watkins netted the equaliser for the Royals after Brownhill’s opener, heading in from Jota’s cross just 10 minutes into the second half.

Another new signing, Neal Maupay, then struck a brilliant effort to put the Bees into the lead, looping the ball over Frank Fielding. This was all before Bobby Reid spanked the ball home to equalise in added time.

It has added to the frustration of Brentford fans, who had this to say on Twitter afterwards:

Brentford fans… What do you make of this? Are you frustrated? Let us know in the comments below.
