Huddersfield fan Sean Makin gives his thoughts on how his side are going to fair in the Sky Bet Championship this season.

What are your expectations for this season?

I don't want to sound too pessimistic but personally I'd be happy with a top half finish. I think a play-off push, whilst certainly not impossible, could be out of our reach as there are some strong sides this year. If you think of the teams that came down from the Premier League and then you've got the likes of Derby, Wigan and Nottingham Forest who will not doubt be there or thereabouts it makes the Championship very difficult. In my opinion I don't think we made much progression last season from the season previous. We started off well last year but after Christmas we fell apart and dropped like a stone in the league from March but kept our heads about water with a win over Yeovil in April.

What do you think of your summer business so far?

Our transfer activity has been okay but nothing to get excited about as of yet. We've brought Joe Murphy in from Coventry City as a backup to number one goalkeeper Alex Smithies, which is a decent acquisition I think and he will push Smithies for the number one jersey. We've also brought in Lee Peltier back to the club after he left Leeds United. Not bad for a free transfer considering we sold him for about £1 million to Leicester City three years ago but its just a case of will he be as good as he was in his first spell with us? He's played at Championship level since leaving us the first time and he's 27 so he's at his peak, it will be interesting to see.

Who will be your star player this year?

James Vaughan. If we can keep him injury free that is. For me on his day one of the best strikers in the league but just seems to plagued with injuries that's blighted his career which is a real shame. He still got 12 goals last season despite practically missing the second half of the season due to injury.

Who will be your breakout star this year?

Good question. We've got some highly rated youngsters in our ranks at the moment with the likes of Duane Holmes, Philip Billing, Jake Charles and Sondre Tronstad. It will be interesting to see if Charles, the grandson of football legend John Charles, is given a chance in the first-team this coming season. He's a winger who can also play up front and scored 22 goals in 32 games for the Under-18 side last season.

What game are you looking forward to the most?

Some interesting matches next season and there are a few I'm looking forward to but I think we owe Leeds one after that bizarre 5-1 loss at Elland Road.
