Tony Pulis has been linked with a swoop for Millwall midfielder George Saville, reviving interest they had earlier in the summer.
The 25-year-old former Chelsea trainee has started the season in good form for Millwall, fresh from helping them to a promotion assault last season. They narrowly missed out on the top six and are currently 15th in a packed Championship table.
Saville is an attacking midfielder, also comfortable in the false ten position. He offers lots of energy and endeavour as well as showing composure on the ball. He's been instrumental in Millwall's rise and continues to help push them on.
Boro meanwhile have recently signed Mo Besic from Everton, a central midfielder, and some of our expert panel feel perhaps Saville wouldn't fit into their current system.
Here's what the FLW team think of Saville's possible move to the Riverside.
Sam Rourke
He'd be a useful signing.
Saville has proved his worth in recent seasons at Millwall and is a key cog in their side.
If Boro did sign him, I do wonder where he would fit in to Pulis' system though.
Though, there is no denying he is an effective Championship player that would enhance Boro's squad options as they aim for promotion to the Premier League
George Dagless
He'd be a good signing.
He's box to box and would add some more energy to Boro's side.
They look good at the moment and I think Saville would improve them further.
Gary Hutchinson
Saville is a decent player at Championship level and certainly deserves a stab at being in a top six side.
I do wonder if he might be better staying with Millwall though? Neil Harris is a manager building a real legacy at the Den and I can see them challenging again if they get Tom Bradshaw firing.
Also, will Saville be a regular under Pulis?
Even if he does move, I'm not sure Boro is the right place to go.
Jay Taylor
It would be a great signing, but you have to worry that Boro are focusing on the wrong position.
They need a winger, and the middle of the park for them is quite heavy considering they have just signed Mo Besic again.
It would as good a signing for Tony Pulis as it would be a blow for Millwall - but Boro have other areas that need addressing first.
