GK: Tom Heaton (Burnley)

The Burnley goalkeeper has been an ever-present for the Clarets this season and he has kept 16 clean sheets in the process as he and his team mates chase an immediate return to the Premier League.

Despite a number of impressive goalkeepers plying their trade in the Championship this season, Heaton has been the standout performer in-between the sticks this season, even being rewarded with a call-up to the England squad.

Given Burnley's performance this season, the 29-year-old club captain will probably be leading his side in the Premier League next season, which is nothing short than his performances have deserved this season.

RB: Moses Odubajo (Hull City)

odubajoooo

The 22-year-old Odubajo has excelled in Steve Bruce's side this season and his £3.5m summer move from Brentford looks like a great bit of business for the Tigers.

Although usually deployed as a winger when making a name for himself at Leyton Orient and Brentford, Odubajo has been on the right hand side of the defence this season and he has been the best in that position in the Championship this season.

Although Hull's automatic promotion push has suffered a set-back in recent weeks, the former England under-20 international will hope to challenge himself in the Premier League next season.

CB: Michael Keane (Burnley)

keane762

Even when Burnley were relegated from the Premier League last season, Keane was a shining light for the Clarets and his impressive form has continued in the Championship.

The former Manchester United centre-back was linked with a return to the top flight in January, but he stayed with Sean Dyche's side and he has been a pivotal part of their push for the Championship title.

A key player at the back this season, Keane has also contributed in the final third of the field with four league goals this season, including a last minute header against Brighton.

CB: Daniel Ayala (Middlesbrough)

Daniel AyalaDaniel Ayala

The 6ft 3in defender has been a crucial player for Aitor Karanke's side this season and it is no coincidence that their poor form from January to March coincided with the Spaniard's absence from the side.

Boro had the best defensive record in the division last year and that superb defence has continued into this season, largely thanks to the presence and leadership of the 25-year-old.

Along with Keane, Ayala has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season and he will be expecting to play in the Premier League next time around.

LB: Andrew Robertson (Hull City)

Andrew Robertson

Left-back is the position that caused the most debate between our writers with Hull's Andrew Robertson and Middlesbrough's George Friend being the top choices for the spot in our team.

However, the majority went with Scotland international Robertson after a second successive impressive season for the Tigers after having a solid debut season in the Premier League.

Along with Odubajo on the right, Steve Bruce's full-backs give the Tigers an added attacking threat, but the difference is that the 22-year-old Scot is the better defender.

RM: Alan Judge (Brentford)

judge

The Republic of Ireland international was a popular choice among FLW's writers for Player of the Season earlier this month, so its no surprise to see him in the Team of the Season.

Judge has been the Bees' best player by a  country mile as well as claiming 14 goals and 11 assists along the way, it wasn't a shock to see him linked a move to the Premier League and the top end of the Championship in January.

In truth, the attacking midfielder deserves better than the mid-table finish that his side achieved this season and Dean Smith may struggle to keep him at Griffin Park next season.

CM: Joey Barton (Burnley)

barton88333

The free signing of the vastly experienced Barton in the summer for Burnley was undoubtedly one of the best pieces of business made in the Championship this season.

Since signing and getting fit, the 33-year-old has been instrumental in the Clarets' push for the title and his influence on and off the pitch is sometimes forgotten because of is troubled past.

But the former Newcastle and Manchester City midfielder has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season and this place in this team was all but certain.

CM: Adam Clayton (Middlesbrough)

clayton

While Daniel Ayala does the majority of organising at the back of Middlesbrough's defence, it is Adam Clayton that links defence and attack, making him a crucial cog in Aitor Karanka's side.

The 27-year-old has had arguably his best season as a professional this season and if Boro do achieve their aim of securing promotion to the Premier League, the former Leeds midfielder deserves a lot of the credit.

Clayton's pinpoint passing is a huge asset for Boro and he often starts their attacks, without claiming the glory that the likes of Stewart Downing or Albert Adomah get.

LM: Sam Clucas (Hull City)

Sam ClucasSam Clucas

In what was a relatively quiet summer window for Hull City, Chesterfield winger Sam Clucas was one of five arrivals and along with another on this list, Moses Odubajo, has had a huge impact with the Tigers.

The winger has contributed with six league goals for Steve Bruce's side and his presence down the left hand side of the pitch has been a huge asset for Hull chase an immediate return to the Premier League.

Whatever division the Tigers are in next season, Clucas will want to build on an impressive debut campaign that has seen him get into the FLW Team of the Season.

ST: Ross McCormack (Fulham)

mccormack99999

This season has been a disaster fro Fulham but their star man this season, Ross McCormack, has contributed massively with 23 goals so far with a further 10 goals laid on for his team mates.

The Scottish striker had an eventful January that saw him strongly linked with a move to promotion-chasing Middlesbrough, but he stayed at Craven Cottage and Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic will be desperate to seep the 29-year-old at the club.

The former Leeds man has scored an incredible 116 goals and claimed 55 assists in 300 games in the Championship and that sort of pedigree makes him one of the best forwards in the division.

ST: Andre Gray (Burnley)

gray635353

Arguably the signing of the summer in the Championship, Andre Gray has been superb for Burnley and has scored 23 goals so far this season as the Clarets look to secure the title in the final few weeks of the season.

With the departure of Danny Ings, as well as injuries to Sam Vokes, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Ashley Barnes, Sean Dyche looked short of options in the final third but Gray has shown why his manager had so much faith in him.

Gray was another popular choice with FLW writers for Championship Player of the Season so his inclusion is far from a shock, but it is entirely deserved.
