The FLW team challenged each other to write an article each for our Championship team of the season.

Its been one of the most exciting Championship seasons ever seen, with some incredibly talented players all performing extremely well this season.

Their have been SO many good players, that it's quite difficult to squash them into just eleven.

Many Football LEague fans will disagree with my selctions, but i'm hoping many will actually agree with the selections I've chose - but it's football at the end of the day... Everyone has their own opinions!

I'll warn you, I've made some alternative choices, particularly up front, so Ipswich fans, I'm sorry that you won't see Daryl Murphy up front. Hope you enjoy.

Goalkeeper: Adam Federici

He may not have racked up the clean sheets this season, but my goodness has Adam Federici been outstanding this year.

The Aussie has literally won points on his own for the Royals, and thank goodness he has, because Reading would be in a lot more trouble if he hadn't.

We were all shocked as Reading fans on the opening day of the season, as the first eleven came out for the Wigan game, we saw Adam Federici in goal. After the season that Alex McCarthy had last year, it was a surprise (at this time McCarthy had not been linked or signed to QPR).

But thank goodness he was started, because I'm sure it gave him confidence.

It was heart breaking to watch our player of the season walk off the pitch in tears in our FA Cup semi final, because Federici has been our saviour and he didn't deserve such a gut wrenching, heart stopping mistake against Arsenal. Federici is my Championship goalkeeper of the season.

Right back: Simon Francis

There was no doubt in my mind that Bournemouth would be promoted this season, after a stunning year for Cherries fans.

How I envy them. Simon Francis has played a huge part in this, putting in some outstanding performances, and he is no doubt the best right back in the league.

At age of 30 he's hit his prime and will certainly be an asset to Bournemouth in the Premier League. As well as being strong defensively, Francis has showed his attacking prowess by creating six goals this year. Francis is my right back of the season.

Centre back: Daniel Ayala

Part of the most solid defence in the Championship, the Spanish defender has proven to Norwich City that they should not have sold him.

Middlesbrough probably deserve to be promoted this season after a very strong campaign, and with their solid defence it gives them a good base to kick off in the Premier League.

Ayala has been a key member of that defence and is still a young man. I think he can definitely establish himself as a proper top flight centre half. He really does warrant a place as one of my best centre backs this season.

Centre back: Steve Cook

A defender who has scored five goals for Bournemouth this season and has been another key member in the Cherries eleven.

Bournemouth are an organised team and have a very well structured defence. Cook has, incredibly, featured in all 46 Championship games this season.

Subject to interest from Burnley and Sunderland in January, like Ayala, Cook will be a solid player in the Premier League. He has definitely been one of the best centre backs in the league this year.

Left back: Tyrone Mings

Perhaps a blessing in disguise to see left back Aaron Cresswell sign for West Ham last summer? I'll leave that to Ipswich fans. But beyond a doubt, they certainly are blessed to have such a talented left back to replace Cresswell without having to sign him.

The 22-year-old has been a leading player in Ipswich's superb season this year. To achieve what they've achieved without spending a penny is very impressive. But special credit has to go the Mings, who's been fantastic.

Pace and strength are key assets to the modern footballer, and he has them in excess. It's no wonder the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are vying his signature, because he's a massive talent. Mings is my left back of the season.

Right midfielder: Michail Antonio

What a shock to the Championship this man has been. The former Reading man has always had superb physical attributes, but he's really shown us what he's made of this season. 14 goals is a really strong total for any winger, and 12 assists to go along with it.

He's arguably been Forest's best player this season, and will almost certainly have Premier League sides eyeing him up this summer.

Central midfielder: Matt Ritchie

*Waits for tweets saying that Ritchie isn't a central midfielder*... Alright, so what if Ritchie isn't a central midfielder, but there have been too many wingers to accommodate for this season. In my opinion, Matt Ritchie should've been awarded player of the season over Patrick Bamford.

Since joining from Swindon Town for £500,000 a few seasons a go, the 25-year-old has become an integral part of the Bournemouth side. With 12 goals, including some absolute stunners, and the most assists in the Championship with 16, he's been mesmerising.

For me, Matt Ritchie has been the best player in the Championship this season.

Central midfielder: Bradley Johnson

I really wouldn't have tipped this guy to be one of the best players this year, but he has. 13 goals from central midfield is, again, an incredible total. Norwich's recovery has been really impressive this year. After a hot start, things began to simmer down at Carrow Road, but the recovery under Alex Neil has been super.

The 27-year-old has proven he should be a part of the Canaries side in the top flight, if they were to reach the Premier League and if they weren't to go up, he's sure to have interest in him this summer. Bradley Johnson has been the best central midfielder in the Championship this season.

Left midfielder: Bakary Sako

It surprises me how little plaudits this man has got this season. Premier League interest from Aston Villa, West Brom and Stoke City is well warranted. He's already beaten his total for last season with 14 goals this year from out wide.

The Mali international should definitely be playing Premier League football next season and is one of a fantastic Wolves front four of Benik Afobe, Nouha Dicko and Rajiv Van La Parra. Bakary Sako has been the best left winger in the Championship this season.

Striker: Chris Martin

Here's where I'm going to come under fire... Sorry everyone, but let me explain my decision. Before his injury, Chris Martin was the Championship's leading scorer. He has 17 goals this season in 2754 minutes and, we'll compare with Daryl Murphy, who has 24 goals in 3694 minutes.

That's 940 minutes less then what Murphy has played, which is around 10 and a half games. I'm sure Martin, given his form before his injury, would be level with Murphy's total, if not exceeded it. Now, I know not everyone will agree, but let's remember that this is my opinion.

Striker: Odion Ighalo

What a revelation this bloke has been. Watford will count their lucky stars that they put a clause in his loan deal to make it permanent, because he's had a wonderful, wonderful season. After arriving from Udinise, he's scored 20 goals.

I'm using the same theory with Martin I'm afraid. The fact that he's only played 1864 minutes makes his total even more impressive. We'll compare that with Troy Deeney this time, who's played 3243 minutes this season and who's also managed 20 goals.

The 25-year-old has scored the same amount as the player of the season nominee despite playing an incredible 1379 minutes less. Ighalo is one to look out for in the Premier League next season.

I think he's an astonishing striker, and for me, he's been the best striker in the Championship this season. I cannot praise him enough.
