Middlesbrough take on Leeds United this weekend in another big game at the sharp end of the Championship table.

There have been some great games at the top of the league in recent weeks with both these sides involved in them.

Boro, of course, beat West Brom last weekend whilst Leeds lost to Norwich and we can expect another cracker at the Riverside here.

It could be close, then, with defence focused on greatly and so in this FLW Duel we're comparing Aden Flint and Pontus Jansson.

As a team, Middlesbrough trump Leeds - and the rest of the division really - in terms of the key defensive stats but, on an individual basis, it's more even between these two top centre-backs.

Flint has played a few more but Jansson actually edges the goals tally - underlining the former Bristol City man's drop off from last season.

Jansson is the more forward-thinking, too, with the ball at his feet.

A typically modern centre-half, his pass success rate is very strong and his pass per game average is also greater - surely in part to Marcelo Bielsa's ball-playing approach.

Aden Flint, similarly, reflects Tony Pulis' stance with his numbers.

His passing game isn't as good but in the air and in clearances he tops the Swede, with Boro's build-up more direct and quicker through the lines than Leeds.

Both defenders, then, are their manager's style in a nutshell and that's what makes this game so intriguing.

Will it be style or substance that wins the day? We're not far from finding out...
