Fleetwood Town are set to sign striker Promise Omochere from League of Ireland side Bohemians, a report from The Irish Independent has claimed.

Having made his debut for the club as a teenager back in 2018, Omochere has gradually gone on to become a regular in Bohemians' first-team.

In total, the attacker has made 54 appearances for the Irish top-flight side, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in that time.

However, it now looks as though the 21-year-old is set to make the move over to England ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

According to this latest update, Fleetwood have agreed a deal with Omochere, who is undergoing a medical on Tuesday, with the move expected to be announced in the next 24 hours.

It is thought that the League One side will pay a five-figure fee for the striker after meeting the release clause in his contract, with the potential for that cost to rise with future add-ons.

If confirmed, Omochere could become Fleetwood's seventh senior signing of the summer transfer window.

Brendan Wiredu, Callum Morton, Josh Earl, Jay Lynch, Shaun Rooney and Josh Vela have all already completed permanent moves to Highbury.

The Verdict

This does look as though it could be a rather useful signing for Fleetwood to get done.

Omochere has clearly already shown that he can cope with the demands of playing regular first-team football, having done so with Bohemians in the past couple of seasons in particular.

As a result, you do feel as though the forward may have a chance to make an impact in League One next season, and ths does feel like a big opportunity to catch the eye over in England.

With that in mind, it appears that with the windfall Bohemians should receive as well, this could be a deal that works well for all involved.
