Fleetwood Town have confirmed the signing of Stephen Dobbie from Crystal Palace, the club’s official Twitter account has confirmed.
The 31 year old striker has penned a season long loan deal at Highbury, in what is a major coup for Fleetwood, as they prepare for their début season in League One.
Much travelled striker Dobbie, rejected the chance to sign on a permanent basis for former club Blackpool, in favour of a move to Fleetwood.
The move shows great ambition from Graham Alexander’s side, who have also signed Newcastle United’s Aaron Campbell earlier today, to make it a Premier League double swoop.
Dobbie stated his delight at the loan move to Fleetwood’s official website.
“I met the manager recently and within 10-15 minutes of speaking to him I knew this was the place I wanted to come to.”
“The aim is to now continue to put smiles on the supporters faces and I can’t wait for Saturday’s game.”
Dobbie could make his début for Fleetwood in their League One fixture at Highbury against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
The Glaswegian joins former Blackpool team mates Keith Southern and Stephen Crainey in signing for the club.
