Newcastle United shot-stopper Freddie Woodman has emerged as a possible target for Arsenal according to Chronicle Live.

The youngster is currently on loan with Championship side Swansea City, and has made 37 appearances in total this season, as they look to force themselves into the play-off positions before this year's campaign reaches a conclusion.

Woodman has been a key member of their squad as well with his strong performances seemingly not going unnoticed.

It seems unlikely that Woodman will return to Swansea next season.

We take a look at FIVE replacements that Swansea City should target with Woodman's return looking unlikely.

Martinez is currently Arsenal's second-choice goalkeeper, but has struggled for consistent game time with the Gunners for the majority of his career.

He had a brief spell with Reading last season, and played a starring role in their survival bid, which ultimately kept them in the second tier.

A possible loan move for the Argentine certainly shouldn't be ruled out by any stretch of the imagination.

Darlow is out of contract with Newcastle United at the end of this year's campaign, and it seems hard to believe that he'll be content with being their second-choice goalkeeper.

He's has experience of playing in the Championship with both the Magpies and Nottingham Forest in the past, and should be one of Swansea's number one targets heading towards the summer.

Ruddy is another goalkeeper that is out of contract heading into the summer, and his experience could be useful to the Swansea team next season.

He played a key role in Wolves' promotion into the Premier League, and would definitely add something to the Swans team, whether that be in the Championship or top-flight in the near future.

He'd have a positive impact on and off the pitch for Steve Cooper's side.

Vorm is a player that Swansea fans will know all about after his previous spell with the club.

The Dutchman has struggled for game time with Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur though this season, and is their third-choice goalkeeper behind Hugo Lloris and Paul Gazzaniga, so a move could be on the cards.

It would be somewhat of a coup if they were able to land his signature for a second time in the summer.

Steer has been out injured for the majority of this year's league campaign with Aston Villa through injury and hasn't featured since their defeat to Wolves back in November 2019.

The experienced goalkeeper played his part in Villa's promotion last season, and performed heroics in their penalty shoot-out win over West Brom in their play-off semi-final at The Hawthorns.

He's likely to be behind Tom Heaton, Ørjan Nyland and Pepe Reina now though, which could mean that he looks for a move elsewhere.
