Huddersfield Town will go into next season under the stewardship of David Wagner, with the German set to embark on his first full season as the manager of the West Yorkshire-based outfit.

Wagner has already put his mark on the way in which the Terriers play, and he will be hoping to see an even bigger improvement following a full pre-season with his squad.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach was a shock choice to replace the departing Chris Powell back in November, but the Terriers supporters have already warmed to the likeable German.

The Huddersfield squad possesses some quality already, but the chances of Wagner strengthening further this summer are pretty high, with the current crop pretty depleted in certain areas.

Wagner has already bolstered his team ahead of next season with the signing of German defender Chris Lowe, who joins from Kaiserslautern.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to Huddersfield Town over the last couple of days and a deal could be concluded soon.

Wagner used to work with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, and it is little surprise to see the Reds boss helping out his old pal with a solid loan like Ward.

The youngster has played second fiddle to Simon Mignolet since being recalled to the club after spending the first-half of the season with Aberdeen.

Huddersfield will desperately need to add a keeper to their ranks, with Jed Steer set to return to Aston Villa and Joe Murphy out until October following surgery.

Paddy McNair

Manchester United defender McNair could depart Old Trafford in the summer having fallen way down the pecking order.

Question marks are still cast over the Northern Ireland international’s ability to play regular football in the Premier League, so a move to the Championship could do wonders for his development.

Still only 21-years-old, McNair is likely to have a bright future in the game but game time is a must, and the Terriers could give him plenty of that.

A versatile performer, the Red Devils man can operate at either full-back or in the heart of defence, where he was so impressive for the Green and White’s during qualification for Euro 2016.

Serge Gnabry

The Arsenal youngster has seen his career go somewhat awry following a failed loan spell with West Bromwich Albion during the first half of the campaign.

Next season will be a big one for the German, and Terriers boss Wagner could well help his compatriot out by securing the winger on loan.

Gnabry would be seen as a real coup for any Sky Bet Championship club and, if Huddersfield are serious about making the play-offs, these are the type of players they should pursue.

The 20-year-old has a lot to offer, and his blistering pace would make him a really solid signing for the Terriers.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is set to be one of the next big players to emerge from the glittering academy at White Hart Lane.

The 20-year-old is a central midfielder and actually made his debut for the first-team during the current campaign, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 win over FK Qarabag in the Europa League.

The Hemel Hempstead-born midfielder has played for England at every youth level from Under-17 through to the Under-20 set-up, and looks set for a solid future in the game.

His range of passing is impressive, and he is more than capable of breaking up play in a more defensive role if required to do so.

Liam Moore

The Leicester City defender has endured a torrid campaign on a personal level and, despite the Foxes winning the title this season, it is hard to imagine Moore feeling a part of the squad at the moment.

Moore played 11 times for the Foxes during the 2014/15 campaign, but was sent to Brentford for the second part of the campaign to gain some first-team football.

Under the leadership of Claudio Ranieri, Moore is yet to kick a ball in a blue shirt, and spent the first half of this season with Bristol City, where he played 10 games for the club.

Leicester will probably go in search of better quality players this summer and that could push Moore further down the pecking order.

Huddersfield could do with a bit of youthfulness at the back, and 23-year-old Moore could be just the player for David Wagner.
