Aston Villa's resurgence up the Championship has been a good one since Steve Bruce's arrival at Villa Park and he'll be hoping to continue his team's good form in the near future.

Villa picked up a useful point against title challengers Brighton this weekend, with the game finishing 1-1 at the Amex.

In the long haul, it's probably a decent result for Villa but three points would have been far more beneficial if they are looking to get up towards the play-offs.

Steve Bruce has done a cracking job of turning things around thus far for his side but if we're being bluntly honest, he's inherited a squad of players that he might necessarily want.

It's always tough for new managers to come to a team mid-term and get the best out of individuals you personally wouldn't bring in yourself, which is why we're going to be proposing some January transfer targets.

So with that in mind, here's FIVE Premier League loan moves Villa must consider in January.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Kicking us off is Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who has had a quiet start to the current Premier League season for Manchester United.

He was a regular under former manager Louis Van Gaal but he's struggling to get a game under Mourinho.

Things could get easier if he heads out on loan though, and Villa could do far worse than the adaptable 18-year-old powerhouse who can play across the defence or in a defensive midfield position.

Marko Grujic

Arguably one of the brightest young players currently in the game, Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of him.

We saw a glimpse during pre-season but to say the Serbian youngster could be a star isn't an understatement in the slightest.

But at 20-years-old, a bit of first team football really wouldn't go amiss and joining Aston Villa would be ideal.

Leonardo Ulloa

With Islam Slimani joining Leicester City this summer, striker Leonardo Ulloa has had to make do with a slightly bit-part role in the side this season.

He was always more of an impact sub but the time will come when the Argentine wants full matches and a loan spell might be best for both parties.

At Villa, whilst Jonathan Kodjia has done okay, other strikers haven't been that impressive in the slightest and an option that is slightly different like Ulloa might not be such a bad thing at all.

Frazier Campbell

Frazier Campbell is struggling for game time at Crystal Palace and you do wonder how long he's going to last in South London.

With Christian Benteke now leading the line, surely it must be time for him to move on.

It would be a decent move for him to join Aston Villa, who are missing a little bit of real pace in their forward line.

Campbell is renowned at this level and if Villa could pull of a loan switch, the chance to sign him permanently might arise in the summer.

Rob Holding

Since James Chester's arrival this summer, Villa have looked a little more steady at the back but they're still far from perfect.

One more solid defender to really put pressure on the first team starters might do just the trick and, as young players go, you don't get much better than Arsenal starlet Rob Holding.

He's got an extremely bright future ahead of him and he'd be fantastic to boost the Villa back-line until the end of the season.
