Oldham Athletic have recently announced that they have parted company with Harry Kewell after a poor run of results in League Two.

Kewell was appointed as Oldham's manager back in August 2020, but they've struggled for a positive run of results in the fourth-tier of English football.

They're currently sat 16th in the League Two table, and are just ten points clear of the relegation zone heading into the final 14 matches of this year's campaign.

The Latics were forced to settle for a point in their most recent match, as they drew 0-0 with relegation-threatened Southend United at Boundary Park.

They have no time to waste in finding a replacement though, with matches coming thick and fast. Oldham travel to Vale Park to take on Port Vale on Tuesday evening.

We take a look at FIVE managers Oldham Athletic could consider as Harry Kewell's replacement heading towards the conclusion of this year's campaign.

Curle is among the frontrunner to take charge at Boundary Park, as Oldham look to put together a positive run of results in League Two at the earliest of opportunities.

He was most recently the manager of Northampton Town, and guided the club to promotion into League One last season via the play-offs, after a win over Exeter City at Wembley.

But he was relieved of his duties in February 2021, with the Cobblers sat 23rd in the third-tier standings at the time.

Currie could be another potential contender that Oldham should consider appointing before the end of this year's campaign.

He was most recently in charge of Barnet, which is a role that he held for two seasons, before departing the club in the summer of 2020, after failing to agree a new contract with the National League side.

Holloway is another manager that could be under under consideration for Oldham in the near future.

He has an impressive CV having guided Blackpool to promotion into the Premier League earlier in his managerial career, whilst also working for the likes of QPR and Millwall later down the line.

Holloway was most recently in charge of League Two side Grimsby Town.

Murray is currently the youth academy manager at Oldham Athletic, and could potentially be a person they look to turn to.

He'll know the players well, and what the club is about, having played for the Latics across a three-year spell with them.

Murray does lack a considerable amount of managerial experience in senior football though, which might be a slight concern for the club.

Campbell's last spell in management was with Southend United, which came to an end in in the summer of 2020, after they were relegated into League Two.

It remains to be seen as to whether the former Arsenal defender would be willing to drop into the fourth-tier of English football, although he could be tempted by the job at Boundary Park with Oldham Athletic.
