A number of clubs in the Championship and League One are interested in a potential summer move for Stoke City midfielder Lasse Sorensen, a report from The Stoke Sentinel has revealed.
Sorensen joined Stoke from Esbjerg back in 2016, and has so far made just eight appearances in all competitions for the Potters.
The midfielder did however get more game time out on loan with MK Dons last season, making 34 appearances for the club to help them to a 13th placed finish in the League One table.
Now it seems as though his performances at the Stadium MK have started to attracted plenty of attention from elsewhere.
According to this latest update, two Championship clubs and three from League One, have identified the 21-year-old as a potential target now that the summer transfer window has reopened.
It also remains to be seen just what Stoke manager Michael O’Neill’s plans for Sorensen are for this season and beyond.
Can you get 21/21 on this quiz every Stoke fan should be able to get 100% on?
As things stand, there are two years remaining on Sorensen’s contract with Stoke, securing his future at the Bet365 Stadium until the end of the 2022/23 season.
It will be interesting to see how Stoke play things here.
Given his lack of game time for the Potters, Sorensen hasn’t really been able to really make an impression at the Bet365 up until now.
However, the level of interest there is in the midfielder does suggest that they may have an asset on their hands, meaning they may be tempted to keep him to benefit from that themselves.
Indeed, Sorensen’s contract situation means that the Potters are under no major pressure to sell the 21-year-old any time soon, so you do feel as though he may deserve to be given a chance to prove himself at Stoke next season before any decision on his long-term future is made.
