Madger Gomes has departed Leeds United in a permanent move, the club's official website has confirmed.

Gomes joins French side FC Sochaux on a permanent deal just one year after joining Leeds from Liverpool.

The 21-year-old played just two games for the Whites during his season at Elland Road with both games coming in the early rounds of the EFL Cup.

Having started his career at Villarreal, Gomes moved to England to join Liverpool in 2014 and he signed a three-year deal with Leeds last summer.

But just one year into that contract, the former Spain under-18 international has opted to leave - although it is unclear whether Leeds received a fee for him.

Midfielder Gomes joins Sochaux, who play in Ligue 2 - the second tier of French football.

Leeds fans, who are still waiting to hear news about their new manager or any signings, took to Twitter to discuss their first bit of summer business.

Here are a selection of the best responses after Gomes' exit was confirmed.
