Pablo Hernandez has been Leeds United’s standout player this season in what has been a hugely disappointing campaign at Elland Road.

The Spaniard has been Leeds’ most consistent player, scoring nine goals across all competitions and adding a further eight assists.

There had been fear that Hernandez was set to walk away from Elland Road on a free during the upcoming summer, with the 33-year-old’s contract set to expire and Leeds yet to renegotiate a contract with the popular midfielder.

Talks have been ongoing for some time, but according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Hernandez is prepared to commit his future to Leeds, with a two-year deal set to be agreed between the two parties.

As expected, news that Hernandez looks set to commit to Leeds has been well received, particularly with Paul Heckingbottom’s side drifting towards mediocrity in the Sky Bet Championship.
