Harvey Barnes has earned his first call-up to the England U21s squad for games against Andorra and Scotland, respectively.

The Championship takes a two-week break for international fixtures after West Brom’s home clash with Reading this weekend.

And having been used to a period without a competitive game, that is all set to change for Barnes.

One loan at The Hawthorns from Leicester, the 20-year-old has been impressive during his temporary stint with the second-tier side.

And after his impressive solo goal in the midweek draw away to Sheffield Wednesday, he has been given international recognition for the first time.

Barnes has scored four goals and registered two assists in 11 matches this season, helping West Brom move to fourth in the Championship table, just one point off of league leaders Leeds United.

The Baggies could head into the international period top of the division with the attacker leaving to join up with his fellow countrymen.

The club’s fans are understandably happy with his inclusion in the U21 national side.

And with that said, here’s how the West Brom supporters reacted to the news that Barnes has earned his first-ever England U21 call-up this week.
