England will play their final friendly match against Costa Rica before travelling to Russia for the World Cup at Elland Road.

Costa Rica and England faced each other and drew 0-0 in the 2014 World Cup, before the Central Americans made the quarter finals and were knocked out on penalties by the Netherlands.

The match will take place on Thursday 7 June at 8pm and it will be the third time that the national team have played at Elland Road.

The Three Lions have not won in their previous two Leeds-based matches; drawing 3-3 with Sweden in June 1995 and losing 2-1 against Italy in 2002.

Leeds fans reacted to the news excitedly, declaring it great for the club and the city - and some are already keen to get tickets and go.

Others remarked that England will finally be playing in front of a passionate and loud home support for a change.
