Nottingham Forest have made a fine start to the new Championship season, just a few months on from narrowly avoiding relegation from the second tier.

The East Midlands giants needed a 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town on the final day of the campaign to secure their Championship status, and manager Mark Warburton has overseen much change at the City Ground during the summer, notably the departure of star striker Britt Assombalonga.

But the Reds have also made several signings, and things appear to be heading in the right direction having won three of their opening five league matches, leaving them sixth in the table.

Warburton’s men have got past Millwall, Brentford, and Middlesbrough thus far but have come unstuck against Barnsley and more recently Leeds United, yet the Forest faithful are likely to be encouraged with their side’s start to the campaign.

However, one man who won’t be donning the red of Forest again is winger Lica, as the club have today confirmed on their official website that a mutual termination of his contract has been agreed.

The 28-year-old only moved to the City Ground last summer but only made five Championship appearances for the Reds last season, with the writing very much on the wall when he was shipped out on loan to Estoril back in February.

And his time at Forest has officially come to an end today, which is news that has provoked quite a reaction from Reds supporters on Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that they aren’t overly disappointed to see Lica leave the club…
