Paul Heckingbottom’s 16-game spell with Leeds United was nothing short of a disaster, with the 41-year-old passing through Elland Road within months.

Leeds replaced Thomas Christiansen with the Barnsley boss last season, with Andrea Radrizzani turning to Heckingbottom after he delivered a League One promotion with the Tykes in 2016.

In 16 fixtures, Heckingbottom recorded just four victories, as Leeds stumbled their way to a mid-table finish in the Championship.

Now, Heckingbottom could be about to return to the Football League, with Alan Nixon reporting that he’s held talks with Notts County about the Meadow Lane vacancy.

Notts are struggling in the League Two relegation places and have already sacked Kevin Nolan and Harry Kewell this season.

As expected, news that Heckingbottom is a contender for the vacancy at Notts has received plenty of reaction.

Here is what Leeds and Notts supporters have been saying across social media…
