Wolves made several high-profile signings in the summer but the deal for Barry Douglas from Konyaspor has been a real shrewd move by the leaders, even if it didn’t attract as much attention.

Nuno Espirito Santo had a clear plan for the 28-year old, using him as the left wing-back in the 3-4-3 formation that Wolves adopt and it has brought the best out of the player.

Whilst capable defensively, the former Dundee United man does his best work going forward with real quality from his left foot.

His set-piece delivery has been remarkable which has been key to Douglas registering 11 assists already this season, the second most in the league.

That hasn’t gone unnoticed by his country, who today called him up for the first time for two fixtures later this month.
