Filip Krovinovic has spoken out over what the future holds for him after finishing his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion, with the 24-year-old having played a sizeable part in the club's promotion campaign.

Arriving on loan from Benfica last summer, the Croatian was a regular for the Baggies, notching up an impressive 43 appearances in all competitions, whilst the attacking midfielder also found the net for Slaven Bilic's men on three occasions.

After returning to his parent club this week, Krovinovic was quick to provide an update over his future during an interview with Croatian publication Vecernji:

“The Championship has just ended and we have not started negotiations yet. The situation in Benfica has changed a bit; the coach, Lage, left.

“He didn’t select me, and if he had stayed at the club, I would surely have been even closer to staying in England.

“There is no clause in my loan agreement according to which West Brom can buy me out, so not everything is under my control, if the new coach Jesus wants to keep me.”

Quiz: Have each of these 15 West Brom players scored a league goal this season?

The former Dinamo Zagreb youth player currently has two years remaining on his current contract at the Estadio da Luz, with the 24-year-old having made 28 appearances to date for the Portuguese giants since arriving at the club in the summer of 2017 from Rio Ave.

The Verdict

It remains to be seen if Krovinovic will indeed make a return to the Hawthorns this summer, with Bilic sure to drawing up his transfer plans ahead of a busy summer for the Baggies ahead of their Premier League return.

The Croatian provided a good option for the club this season and would be well suited to the high tempo style of the first division, thus making him a good fit for West Brom if the price is suitable.

This is sure to be a rumour that will cease to go away as question marks remain over the player's long term future, with Benfica set to undergo something of a squad restructure this summer after missing out on the Portuguese league title to rivals FC Porto.
