Brighton and Hove Albion rescued a point yesterday, thanks to a Tomer Hemed goal in injury-time, as they drew 3-3 with Brentford to keep the pace with Newcastle United at the top of the Championship.

The visiting Seagulls twice had to come from behind to secure a valuable point in the race for promotion in a pulsating encounter at Griffin Park.

Goals from Jota and Harlee Dean looked to have secured the Bees three points, before David Stockdale saved a Lasse Vibe penalty, which sparked Chris Hughton's men into action.

Solly March and Shane Duffy goals pulled those from the south coast side level, though the drama wasn't over there.

Konstantin Kerschbaumer’s goal in the fourth minute of second-half injury-time looked to have sealed three-points for Brentford, until Hemed’s goal three-minutes later rescued Brighton.

The draw left Brighton second in the Sky Bet Championship table, trailing leaders Newcastle United by one point.

However, Hughton’s side moved five points clear of third-placed Reading, keeping their automatic promotion hopes very much alive.
