Former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that West Ham United will sign striker Josh King from Bournemouth for between £7 million and £10 million in January.

Reports suggested the Hammers were keen on signing the striker during the summer but a deal never materialised.

However, with King's contract set to expire next summer, Agbonlahor has told Football Insider that the two clubs will do a deal in the upcoming transfer window.

But would it be a good move for both clubs? And would it be a fair price?

We asked our FLW writers just that...

It seems to be that the valuation might be a little bit off.

£7-10m for King feels like a bargain given what he’s done in the Premier League before, so if West Ham can get a deal done for him at that price, they’ve done so, so well.

In my mind, Bournemouth should have been looking for double that in the window gone by.

January will be an interesting month and, if Bournemouth are in with a chance of promotion, why would they sell?

I just don’t see this happening how Agbonlahor has played it out in his head.

Very good for West Ham.

King's worth more than that in my opinion but it is the situation that we're in in the market and also with Bournemouth probably not able to get him on a new contract now to increase his value.

It's still decent enough money for the Cherries to reinvest and they are not strapped for cash being a well-run club but they would have felt they could have got double at one point in time.

Even so, he is a Premier League quality player and one I would expect to see excel for a club like West Ham so it's a good move for him if it happens.

Do these celebrities support Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Brighton or Southampton?

I think this is a smart bit of business for both parties.

Bournemouth will be hoping that King can play his part in their promotion bid from the

Championship this season, and will surely know that they'll be facing interest from other clubs for his signature once again.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised that he's even still with Bournemouth, as the likes of West Ham and Manchester United were interested in signing him during the summer transfer window.

He's already shown that he's a player that is more than capable of playing in the Premier League, and if he wants to keep himself in the picture for the Norwegian international team, then he can't be playing his football in the Championship.

This is a move that would suit both parties as Bournemouth could reinvest the funds into other areas of their squad, and £7m-£10m is more than enough to do just that.
