Plenty of Middlesbrough fans have taken to social media to react to comments from head coach Jonathan Woodgate ahead of the Championship clash with Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Woodgate was appointed as the new head coach at the Riverside Stadium earlier this year, following the club's decision not to renew Tony Pulis' contract, after he failed to guide Middlesbrough to promotion from the Championship last season.

However, they have made a slow start to the new season under their new head coach and have won just twice all campaign.

Boro lost 4-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, but Woodgate is determined for his players to bounce back and deliver a good performance when in-form Preston visit the Riverside on Tuesday night.

"I will be looking for a big reaction on Tuesday night from my team. A massive reaction to show those fans what it's like to wear this shirt and wear it with pride," Woodgate told the club's media.

Plenty of Middlesbrough fans have taken to social media to react to Woodgate's comments.

Some fans were quick to criticise the manager and insist that the recent performances have not been good enough, while others were keen to get behind him and show their support for the team.
