Jordan Rhodes

The former Ipswich trainee was signed for Blackburn for £8 million from Huddersfield, has had a revitalised career for his past two clubs with a combined goal total of a magnificent 138 goals in in 247 games.

65 in 123 games for Blackburn has deserved the links to top flight clubs in the past year and Rhodes reacted to this by signing a new contract until 2019.

Blackburn rejected a £12 million bid from Middlesbrough for Jordan Rhodes

With 16 goals in the Championship this year, Rhodes has had a good season but with a youthful side behind him, his goal tally could double next season with a confident start.

This could see Blackburn Rovers challenge for a spot in the top six next season, providing they can keep their top players fit and scoring.

Britt Assombalonga

The Congolese and England player has had it hard since his big breakthrough season at Peterborough last year.

After a successful campaign with Posh that included 23 goals the powerful striker was given a chance at Nottingham Forest.

Things started extremely well under new boss Stuart Pearce. This made Britt and the new rejuvenated Forest look deadly.

Assombalonga has been a huge miss for Forest

Injuries put the striker out for weeks and it took a while for the player and his teammates to hit form again.

Currently sidelined for at least nine months, Assombalonga will come back wanting to increase his tally of 15 for Forest and could easily be like a new signing when fighting fit.

Britt will return when Forest will need him the most. The second half of the season is where teams start to push away from mid table and really challenge for glory and it could be a perfect time for Assombalonga to show why Forest invested over £6 million in the forward.

Ross McCormack

After a few hit and miss seasons at Leeds United, the Scot became an unstoppable force for the Championship side.

A season that saw McCormack score 29 goals in one season gave him a very high price tag. In July after promising club fans that he wouldn't leave McCormack was off for a record £11 million fee to just relegated side Fulham.

A goal in his first game started well but constant bad performances for both side and self Fulham were bottom of the table for some time.

McCormack looks set for a new deal at Craven Cottage

After Magath was sacked and Kit Symons came in the player did see his performances step up, this was helped by the side pitching in with a few good games.

Fulham still haven't had a good season and still threatened with a second relegation if they don't pick up points soon. If McCormack is to justify the huge fee paid by Fulham then he has to start picking up regular goals and creating chances for his other out of form strikers.

A 3-0 loss at home against his old club seemed to ruffle his feathers and it's hard to see the player having a strong finish to the season.

Next season is a different story if the dead weight can be taken out of the club and replaced with some of the great youth talent Fulham currently hold in their ranks.

Ross will prove key to a strong season my Fulham and fast attacking football could see his game step up a level.
