The Football League Power Rankings gives football fans, like you, a unique way of charting your team’s progress throughout the football season. The FLPR breaks down the barriers of the English league system and puts all 92 Football League teams into one, complete league table based on form.
Manchester United’s poor form is reflected in their FLPR positions this season. Their average ranking is 27th and they have only spent 7 weeks in the top 20. Last season United finished 2012/13 as statistically the best team in England and spent over 75% of the season on top of the FLPR.
Leicester City’s amazing form has continued and they are now sat in second position – their highest ranking of the season. Leicester are 16 games unbeaten – the next longest unbroken unbeaten records are Wolves and Liverpool with 10.
Nottingham Forest are currently without a win in six games and are averaging 2.483 points per game in this span, prior to this they were 13 games unbeaten. Forest have fallen from 14th to 25th during this time.
Aston Villa are the weekend’s biggest risers, jumping seven places from 71st to 64th after their win against top placed Chelsea. Ipswich Town are the biggest fallers, dropping five places to 39th following their home defeat to Wigan.
Best Weekend Result: Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool 9.626 points
Liverpool take this award for the second time this season. The Reds stay 5th while United drop to 24th. Liverpool last won the BWR crown when they won 0-5 at Tottenham in December.
