The Football League Power Rankings gives football fans, like you, a unique way of charting your team’s progress throughout the football season. The FLPR breaks down the barriers of the English league system and puts all 92 Football League teams into one, complete league table based on form.
If the FLPR started on 1st January 2014, the top five would be Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Wolves and Leicester. Leyton Orient would be down in 31st while Arsenal would be 40th. Sheffield United, York City, Rochdale and Bournemouth are other sides that make up the top 20.
Brighton’s 1-4 away win at Leicester was worth 9.363 points: this was Brighton’s best result of the season, but it could have been so much better. Had Brighton not conceded a late goal their win would have been worth 10.785 points which would have been the best result of any team in England so far this season. This match ended Leicester’s 21 game unbeaten run.
Leyton Orient have gone five games without a win which is their worst run of the season.
Since sitting in 15th place in December, Blackpool have dropped 24 times in 30 updates. They are currently 84th. In the 2014 league mentioned above Blackpool are 91st with only Cardiff below them.
Best Weekend Result
Newcastle 0-4 Man Utd 9.546 points
Manchester United’s season may not have been as successful as last year, but this was their best result of the season and sent them up to 16th which is their highest position since 27th August.
