1 - Darren Bent

Out of contract at the end of the season, Darren Bent is a proven goal poacher the Derby fans have always wanted, but never had.

His stint at the club this season has seen him score 5 valuable goals, and fill the gap that was left by the injured Chris Martin.

With Premier League wages, it would certainly be a big investment for the club, but one that is worth paying.

2 - Jack Butland

Look past Derby's current number 1, Lee Grant, and you'll find the inexperience and youthfulness of Kelle Roos and Jonathan Mitchell.

Jack Butland in his loan spell this season brought a maturity to the squad, despite only being 22 himself, and contributed to the team winning four games in six.

Although he'd be a great addition to the squad, Derby will have to put up a fight to sign him from Stoke, who rate him highly for the future.

3 - Luc Castaignos

Not many players draw comparisons to Thierry Henry, but Luc Castaignos is making a mark with FC Twente in the Netherlands.

Castaignos would be useful addition for Derby

With 37 goals to his name in 89 appearances, the striker is known by Steve McClare from his coaching days three years ago.

Represented at under 17,  18, 19, 20 and 21 level, Castaignos is an exciting prospect but has a high price tag too.

4 - Jordan Ibe

A spark went out of the Derby County side when Jordan Ibe was recalled by his parent club Liverpool at the end of 2014.

Despite making an appearance against Everton in the Merseyside derby this year, Ibe will get itchy feet sat on the bench, especially considering the stretch of first team action he had at Derby.

Most probably a loan deal, Jordan Ibe can improve once again under the stewardship of McClaren.

5 - Omar Mascarell

Omar has had a great season with Derby County after finding his feet in England.

The combination of a lack of game time at Real Madrid and the chance that fellow defensive midfielder George Thorne will struggle with injuries again, means another trip to the UK for the Spaniard is on the cards.

Similar to Jordan Ibe, this will most likely be a loan deal if Derby decide to make a move for him in the summer.
