Every year Championship sides take an interest in star performances in League One.

Byrne is a major target for Burnley

We've already seen Swindon Town midfielders Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin make the step up to the second-tier as QPR signed both for a combined fee of £3 million.

But which other players are ready to make the step up? Here's my picks.

Matty Done

The winger had a stunning season in League One last year where he managed to score 17 league goals and creating 10 assists for his teammates.

Done scored 10 goals in 23 games for Rochdale before joining Sheffield United in February, where he scored a further seven in 14 matches.

He'll have felt unlucky not to gain promotion under Nigel Clough this year after losing to Swindon Town in the play-offs, but under new boss Nigel Adkins the dynamic winger will hope to continue his terrific form.

He's already been linked with relegated Wigan Athletic, and despite usually playing on the left wing, he spent the season predominantly up front for the Blades. There is no doubt he's ready for Championship football.

Jamie Murphy

Another Sheffield United player, the winger is highly-rated by the Blades and is reportedly a £1 million target for Brighton and Hove Albion, who agree that he's ready for the Championship.

11 goals and seven assists last season means that he was one of the best in League One with many tipping him for a place in the team of the season. Though that didn't happen, the 25-year-old is a super talent and can certainly ply his trade in the Championship next year.

Nathan Byrne

The versatile full-back was sensational for Swindon last season during their promotion campaign, and despite their play-off heroics, they couldn't escape League One.

The 23-year-old scored four goals and made nine assists last year and ended up in the PFA League One team of the season. Luckily the Robins had an option of taking a further year on his contract which was due to expire this summer.

He's already been a target for Cardiff City and Premier League side West Brom, who have been linked with a £2 million swoop for the former Spurs man.

Tom Bradshaw

What a coup this was for Walsall. Signing Bradshaw for £50,000 following Shrewsbury's relegation to League Two, the 22-year-old went on to score 17 times in just 29 appearances.

The Welshman does not have any interest in him at the moment from any Championship sides but he definitely has a bright future ahead of him.

Sam Clucas

Who'd have thought Chesterfield would've had the season they had last year? Although Eoin Doyle may have taken the spotlight, Sam Clucas was certainly an integral part of their top-six finish.

He usually plays out wide, but the 24-year-old was shifted up top following Eoin Doyle's transfer to Cardif City, and through the year he managed to scored 12 goals.

There is interest in him from Championship sides, such as Reading, Cardiff and Leeds, but newly promoted Norwich City have also been linked in recent times.
