Watford utilised their links with Italian side Udinese again in July when they signed Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo on loan for the rest of the season, but after scoring three goals in four starts at the start of the season against Brentford, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest he was signed permanently in October.

Ighalo has been one of the many outstanding strikers in the Championship this season and is currently the one of the top scorers in the competition with 19 goals.

Many would’ve tipped Vydra and Deeney to be the main duo up front for the Hornets this season but Ighalo’s outstanding form this season has seen him force his way into the Watford eleven.
