Fawaz Al Hasawi comments on rumours of possible Nottingham Forest takeover

According to The Nottingham Post, Fawaz Al Hasawi has poured cold water on the rumours suggesting that Nottingham Forest could be the subject of a takeover soon.

Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has told the Nottingham Post that he has not received any “serious” offers yet.

There have been two proposed takeover bids which have fallen through already this season; Evangelos Marinakis was the first party to fail with a takeover attempt.

Then, Al Hasawi pulled the plug on a proposed takeover by a consortium led by American businessman John Jay Moores in January when it looked all but completed.

The controversial Kuwaiti owner said:

“At the moment there are no serious offers for the club.

“People have spoken to us, but there is nothing serious worth talking about.”

After rubbishing that speculation, Al Hasawi revealed that Nottingham Forest’s focus was to ensure survival in the Championship and then look at the future of the club in the summer.
