It’s fair to say that James Wilson hasn’t fulfilled the potential that many believed he had when breaking through at Old Trafford.
A combination of injuries and poor form have hindered the striker but he certainly still boasts a lot of quality.
The 21-year old is back playing for United’s reserves now and looks set to move out on loan in the upcoming window. Leeds and Reading are said to be two of the clubs interesting in taking him on a short-term basis.
However, should Norwich also be trying to secure a deal for Wilson?
The Canaries have struggled for goals this season and are terribly reliant on Nelson Oliveira who has suffered with injuries himself.
Here our writers share their thoughts on whether Daniel Farke should move for the Man United man…
Norwich should have a list of strikers as long as my arm to look at for the January window, they have been horrendous in-front of goal this season.
Wilson seems like he will be available, and would be a good option for the Canaries, but for me, they should be looking to make a couple of additions to bolster a failing strikeforce.
Norwich could do with another striker to offer support to Jerome and Oliveira, and Wilson could do the job.
My only concern is the playing time the United youngster would receive in East Anglia. Wilson needs minutes, and if the pair already at the club are fit, he won’t get into the side.
Farke should definitely look into it.
Wilson will surely depart Old Trafford on loan in the January window, and Norwich are in desperate need of some firepower.
Strikers Nelson Oliveira and Cameron Jerome are not in goal-scoring form, and the addition of a fresh striker in January in the form of Wilson, could be very beneficial.
Wilson isn’t going to play at Man Utd anymore and needs to do what is best for his career.
He can score goals, though, and Norwich need that more than most with them unable to find the net often enough this season.
Bring him in and they may shoot up the league.
