Norwich City have endured a difficult week in the Sky Bet Championship, with Daniel Farke’s side clearly struggling following their Carabao Cup heroics, which saw them take Arsenal all the way to extra time at the Emirates Stadium.

The Canaries have suffered back-to-back defeats in the last week, albeit to two of the Championship’s in-form sides – Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Farke will be hoping his side can put themselves back in the early hunt for the top-six this weekend, and have the perfect opportunity to do that, with a clash against Bolton Wanderers.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the starting XI Farke could select, and after plenty of rotation in the last couple of fixtures, we are expecting to see Norwich revert to a similar line-up that guided them through an excellent September.

Angus Gunn has been outstanding in goal, and should continue behind a back-four of Ivo Pinto, Timm Klose, Christoph Zimmermann and Marco Stiepermann – who has deputised at left-back during Norwich’s most impressive runs.

Ahead of the defence will be Tom Trybull and Harrison Reed, who are developing an outstanding understanding in a holding midfield role and allowing Norwich’s attacking players to thrive. Jacob Murphy should bring some natural width on one side of midfield, with Wes Hoolahan on the opposite side. Hoolahan's lack of starting opportunities have been strange, and Farke needs to have more faith in him.

James Maddison has been exceptional in the number 10 role, with the youngster behind everything Farke’s side have done well this season. He will support Cameron Jerome, who returns to the starting XI as the focal point of attack.
