Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has confirmed that centre-back Timm Klose will miss this weekend's clash with Bristol City but midfielder Moritz Leitner could make a return.

A knee injury suffered earlier in the season is still causing Klose problems whilst his fellow centre-back Grant Hanley could also miss the trip to Ashton Gate.

"We will have to travel without Timm, he's not available tomorrow," Farke told his pre-match press conference.

"Grant Hanley was a doubt for this week, he was not able to train yesterday.

"He had inflammation in his eye he picked up in a duel with Onel Hernandez."

Farke added that although Leitner is nearing full fitness he still will not be able to complete 90 minutes following a calf injury.

But he did say that the 26-year-old would be able to complete 45 minutes if called upon during the clash at Ashton Gate.

The Canaries currently have a six-point cushion inside the Championship's automatic promotion places and sit top of the table after 21 games.

They will be hoping to consolidate that place on Saturday against Lee Johnson's mid-table troops.

The verdict

This will be a very big test Farke and the overall quality of the Norwich City squad.

With no Klose and no Hanley, they are two very important players down and they have not exactly been producing wonders at the back with them in the team either.

But team spirit seems extraordinarily high at the club right now so you would not bet against them getting a result no matter who is filling in at the back.
