A move back to Italy seems inevitable for Faraoni, although the Italian side have yet to confirm a deal.

The 22-year-old has been left out of Watford’s pre-season training camp in Italy and has been linked with several Italian clubs since the end of the season.

The defender joined the Hornets on a permanent basis last summer and made 43 appearances for the club during the 2013/14 season, scoring four goals.

Faraoni was in the Lazio youth academy as a youngster but left to join Inter Milan in 2010 and made his professional debut a year later.

He made 14 appearances, scoring once for Inter but moved on to Udinese in 2012, where he played 10 games, before leaving to join Watford on a five-year deal last summer.
