Leeds United’s search for a winger continues after failing in their attempts to sign Swansea winger Dan James in January, with the Whites tracking several wide men from around the country.

One name who has been linked is Jamal Lowe of Portsmouth, who excelled in League One this season.

The 24-year-old netted 15 League One goals and registered 9 assists, making him ready for the step up to the Championship.

Is he better than Man City loanee Jack Harrison though, who has been Leeds’ regular left wing choice this season?

We debate…

Alfie Burns

“Despite playing in the league below, Lowe was far more productive in front of goal and he has the ability to transfer that into the Championship.

“Goalscorers are goalscorers, whatever level they find themselves at, and you’ve got to say that Lowe would bring more to the Leeds side than Harrison did.

“The wings were an area of concern for Leeds all season and recruits are needed to boost Marcelo Bielsa’s side.”

Lewis Steele

“It’s a tough one, both have pros and cons.

“On his day, Harrison is unplayable. Sadly, he is too inconsistent and his ‘day’ needs to come more often.

“Lowe could be good enough for Leeds and certainly a cheaper option than the City-owned star.

“He’s also a lot more prolific in front of goal - Harrison has missed a few big chances this season”

Louie Chandler

“More than good enough.

“I always quite liked Harrison but it was clear that he was nowhere near consistent enough for a promotion-seeking side.

“Lowe has been excellent all season for Pompey and with 17 goals clearly has a very reliable end product as well.”
