Preston North End
‘Fantastic’, ‘Superb’ – Plenty of Preston fans react to significant player update

Preston North End have confirmed that midfielder Daniel Johnson has signed a new contract with the club.
Johnson had been out of contract at Deepdale at the end of this season, and Rangers had been heavily linked with a move for the 28-year-old recently.
However, it now seems as though Johnson will not be going anywhere any time soon, after it was announced that the midfielder has put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half-year contract with Preston, securing his future with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Since joining Preston from Aston Villa in the 2015 winter transfer window, Johnson has made a total of 240 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 47 goals and providing 26 assists in that time.
Perhaps not surprisingly therefore, plenty of Preston fans were delighted as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the news of Johnson’s new deal at Deepdale.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.

Really good news. 25 goals from midfield in 2 and a half season, plus around 15 assists. Not easy to replace.
