Portsmouth have increased their attacking options following the signing of Cardiff City striker Omar Bogle on loan until the end of the season, it has been confirmed on the club website.
The 25-year-old spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Birmingham City where he played 16 times and scored a single goal in all competitions, but his season-long spell at the Blues was cut short to allow him to join Pompey.
So will Bogle prove to be a good signing for Pompey?
“A decent signing.
“I don’t think he’s ever going to be prolific but he will give the side a focal point and should chip in with a few goals.
“After their recent wobble a new face can freshen things up too, so this is a smart move.”
“I actually don’t think it is, no.
“I wanted to see Pompey bring in pace to get behind Hawkins and Pitman.
“Bogle isn’t that player. Bogle is the target man more than anything.
“That means they’re unbalanced. He’s got a lot to prove too.”
“This is exactly what Pompey have been crying out for.
“Bogle is an excellent striker who has a point to prove after being frozen out of the Birmingham squad this season.
“If Kenny Jackett can keep him grounded, he will be the man to fire them to promotion – no doubt about it.”
“Kenny Jackett is a master when it comes to getting the best out of underperforming players.
“Bogle is just that having failed to hit the heights expected of him at Birmingham.
“If Pompey can find his Grimsby form then they have one hell of a potent striker on their hands.”
