Steven Gerrard's Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Wigan Athletic playmaker Nick Powell in the summer.

The 25-year-old scored 15 goals in 45 games last season, helping the Latics win promotion from League One. The playmaker has carried his form across to this season, scoring six goals and producing six assists.

But with his contract at the DW Stadium set to expire at the end of the season, it has been reported by Football Insider that Leeds United hold an interest in the playmaker, whilst according to Alan Nixon, Rangers are keen.

Here, we discuss whether he'd be a good signing for Rangers...

George Harbey

"This would be an excellent signing for Rangers.

"Powell is a goalscoring midfielder who has proven to be a quality player in the Championship for Wigan.

"To land him on a potential free transfer would be a fantastic piece of business by the Scottish club."

Jay Taylor

"This could be a very good bit of business by Steven Gerrard.

"Powell was wanted by Celtic, so getting one over their rivals could be a massive coup.

"He would thrive in Scotland and become one of their most important players.

"Rangers should do all they can to sign the former Manchester United man."

Alfie Burns

"Powell has a lot of traits that’d help him excel at Rangers.

"He’s a creative player and a goalscoring threat from an attacking midfield position.

"If he can put his injury troubles behind him, he’d be a great addition for Gerrard’s side."
